We know that returning to work after a career break can be a daunting prospect, which is why we are offering a Returnship Program which is here to help. Our Returners Program is a 6-month placement which has been specifically designed to bridge the gap between taking a career break of two years or more and re-entering the workplace. We want you to capitalise on your existing experience, refresh your skills and knowledge whilst equipping you with the confidence to return to work. It gives meaningful experience, with the wraparound of coaching, mentoring support and training.

We are looking for a Software Engineer who will join our Mobility Intelligent Traffic Systems company based in Poole. You will work in the Research and development department where you will be part of a small team who are responsible for developing and testing our cutting edge technology’s. You will involved in exciting projects on traffic infrastructure and autonomous vehicle infrastructure.

  • Mentoring - A mentor and buddy will be assigned to support your introduction and ongoing personal development within Siemens
  • Training - Support will be on hand with on the job training

  • Induction - A comprehensive induction to the business will be given allowing you to get a deep understanding and appreciation for the various functional teams you may be engaged with

This is your role. What part will you play?

The Software engineer role is key member of the Research and development team, we are continually developing new and exciting sets of products, this is a opportunity for you to work on marketing leading cutting edge green-field projects. You will be involved in developing systems and processes that we can develop into reliable, scalable solutions. We are interested in Software Developers at all levels and offer the development and mentoring required to assist you to return to the workplace.

Here are some of the technologies that our developers use in our solutions:

  • Java / Spring Framework / J2EE
  • RDBMS Systems (e.g. MySQL and MSSQL)
  • Web front ends using HTML5 and AngularJS/7
  • Messaging services (e.g. ActiveMQ)
