We are currently recruiting for 3 part time Hygiene and Housekeeping Operatives for our client based at the world's leading pet nutrition centre in Waltham on the Wolds, Leicestershire.

Our Hygiene and Housekeeping role provides the highest standard of cleaning to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of cats and kittens in our care. Though not working directly with the animals, the role does provide chances to interact with our pets as part of day to day activities and to provide them with additional opportunities to interact with a broad range of people.

Roles are Pro-rata, 2-3 days per week working as a team of 3 and covering each other's holidays. Hours to suit but all are 7.5 hours (with 30 min break for lunch) and are either (phone number removed)pm, 8-4pm or 9-5pm. Roles are on a rota pattern so will involve some weekend and Bank Holiday working. These roles will be on a temporary contract under assignment for three months initially, however for a suitable candidate there may be the opportunity to extend this to a 12 month contract with annual review.

Training for successful applicants will be held on 09/09/19 for 3 days Monday to Friday (Apply online only) and applicants must be available to attend all of their training.

Duties:

· Follow stringent personal hygiene procedures, which includes showering onto the animal unit each morning.

· Follow all cleaning, animal handing and unit procedures, ensuring quality and safety at all times

Ensure high standards of animal welfare at all times
· Cleaning of animal housing, socialisation and feeding areas

· Removal of animal waste, including regular changing of litter

· Ensure the unit kitchen, washroom, break area, store and corridors are cleaned daily and kept tidy.

· Movement of animals to facilitate cleaning as required during the day

Requirements:

· Basic literacy skills and the ability to follow instructions and guidelines

· Previous experience of working around animals is advantageous

· The ability to work in a team

· Own car is essential due to location

Successful applicants will need to undergo security checks and undertake a medical including a drug test
