What is the purpose of this role?
As a key member of our Highways Design delivery team, you will manage and deliver a broad range of multi-disciplinary civil engineering projects for both Public and Private sector clients in the UK and Internationally.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reporting to the Principal Civil Engineer
- For managing compliance with all relevant technical standards
- You will ensure robust delivery of all the specified project outcomes on time, within budget and to a high-quality standard
- You will be responsible for resolving technical issues that occur on a variety of projects and will proactively manage and monitor delivery
- You will ensure team targets are met and proactively implement measures to improve performance alongside the Principal Civil Engineer
- You will coach junior staff, using your technical skillset to grow and challenge the future generation, supporting them in their professional development and training

What are we looking for?
- A degree in Civil Engineering
- A chartered Engineer (CEng/IEng + MICE) / CIHT / IHE
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the DMRB / Local Authority Standards
- Evidence of managing a variety of Highway Design Projects
- Team motivational skills
- Good IT Skills with a practical knowledge of engineering software
- Proven communication skills with the ability to build and develop relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Good experience of the co-ordination of the design process and team management
- Client focused approach to service delivery
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workload
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver a high-quality product
- Broad knowledge and understanding of key design software (CAD/3d/MX/Open roads)
- Thorough knowledge of CDM and health and safety requirements / implications of design
- Hold a driving license
