Lloyds Banking Group is changing. We're transforming into a digitally-led business on a massive scale in order to provide better products and services for our customers. We're already the largest provider of digital banking products in the UK, with over 12 million active online customers and nearly 8 million active mobile banking customers. We've a new and fascinating opportunity for you to be part of ground-breaking transformation, as a result there's never been a better time to join us.

With our breadth, reach and diversity, we'll offer you excellent opportunities for career growth and development. You'll receive plenty of support but it's about taking the initiative, building relationships and making it happen. Do this and you'll help us make a positive difference to our customers, our colleagues and our communities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Understand and direct how components and services are developed, tested and progressed within their Engineering discipline.
  • Take a lead role within Devops and configuration management.
  • Work closely with development teams, Cloud Engineers and Architects to build and maintain market leading applications
  • Deliver new ways of working via Agile engineering methods and principles, ensuring platforms and software are built consistently with relevant patterns and practices.
  • Accountable for patterns and practices to be communicated across wider Engineering Community.
  • Understand and ensure industry best practices are understood by Engineering Community and related business functions.
  • Develop own technical domain knowledge and take responsibility for own development journey and those of more junior Engineers.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong DevOps Knowledge
    • In-depth knowledge of the CI/CD process
    • Strong hands-on experience with Jenkins
    • Scripting - Bash, Groovy, Python, etc.
    • Monitoring and operational / troubleshooting skills
    • Linux system administration
  • A working knowledge of a wide range of engineering practices and tools.
    • Public cloud (IaaS), Microsoft Azure preferred
    • Infrastructure as code tooling - Terraform
    • Configuration management - Ansible and Chef
  • A good level of technical maturity and is aware of emerging technology.
  • Comfortable sharing knowledge with others but not yet at point of formal teaching.
  • Familiar working in an Agile environment
  • Positive and collaborative attitude
  • Capacity and willingness to learn new technologies and ways of working

We've fostered an inclusive and collaborative learning environment that supports your career goals and encourages knowledge-sharing while providing the flexibility, autonomy and freedom to help build market leading products that exceed our competitor's offerings, from the established banks to the market disrupters.

If that appeals to you we welcome your application.

Company

We’re creating an organisation that attracts, retains and develops the best talent in the industry, and one that openly embraces diversity too. But more than that – we want to be a great place to work. We invest in our people, offering the best training and coaching, and by encouraging them to contribute to our leading corporate and social responsibility practices. We offer flexible working hours and days, under our Work Options scheme. This means that you can have a challenging and rewarding career, and still have an ideal work/life balance.

Flexible working is at the heart of our strategy. We’re re-imagining where, when, and how our people work, with new approaches designed to meet the ever-changing needs of customers and colleagues. These include increasing our use of remote-working tools and technology, as well as placing less reliance on a 9-to-5 mindset. For many of our office-based colleagues, we work in hybrid ways which involves spending at least two days per week or 40% of their time at one of our office sites.
