Description

£23,951 per annum for 36 hours per week based at County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston Upon Thames, KT1 2DN. This position is based inside one of our main area offices, click HERE to see a 360 degree view of the building and surrounding area along with a view of the reception. We are looking to relocate back into the county by 2020.

This is a 6 month fixed term contract, with an opportunity for the contract to be extended.

About the role

The My Helpdesk Team offers a front line service to all Surrey County Council employees as well as external colleagues and customers. Enquiries are dealt with by telephone, e-mail, fax and face-to-face.

This role sits in the part of the team that handles enquiries on all aspects of HR, including Payroll, Recruitment and Training. During busier periods there will be an opportunity to support the wider Helpdesk which incorporates the My Helpdesk Finance and My Helpdesk Pensions Teams.

We are seeking a candidate that always puts the customer first and can demonstrate excellent customer service skills. The successful candidate will work efficiently and thrive in a varied and fast paced working environment.

You will be required to have a basic understanding of HR procedures. However, this role provides an excellent opportunity to gain further knowledge and experience of a broader range of work areas and an insight into how different teams work.

You will be working as part of a well-supported, friendly team. You will be taken through a 6 week training programme and given the tools to work independently to allow you to deliver excellent service and support to our customers. You will also be given the opportunity to attend further training as part your ongoing development.

To be shortlisted to interview your CV will clearly evidence:

  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of providing high levels of customer care and professionalism to members of the public
  • Good IT skills and to use databases to a high standard of accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively and flexibly and as part of a team
  • An understanding of HR procedures is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to travel to Kingston Upon Thames
