About the role

The team is a part of the Children's Information Governance team and is responsible for the processing of Freedom of Information requests across Children's Services.

You will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks to support the efficient management of the Freedom of Information (FOI) processes across the directorate.

You will receive, distribute, progress and chase FOI requests to ensure that responses meet the requirements of Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts and legislative timescales.

This role is responsible for maintaining the bespoke IT system ensuring that all data is accurate and up-to-date and run and present standard reports.

You will also receive and respond to everyday enquiries from customers and colleagues, passing on and escalating as appropriate, and work collaboratively with team members to provide a high quality and efficient Information Governance administration service.

You will have a good understanding of the need for confidentiality and an ability to organise and prioritise work to deliver on commitments, keeping the Information Governance Team Leader updated on workload status and raiding potential obstacles in complying with deadlines.

You will need to be highly organised, willing to take responsibility and use initiative; comfortable in setting your own priorities and meeting deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential along with a high level of written and oral communication.
