Fulbridge Social Care is currently recruiting enthusiastic, compassionate and resilient Youth Support Workers. Successful candidates will be working in small children’s homes, 16+ homes, supported living & education settings. Children & Young People are aged between 11 and 18, they may be vulnerable and may also come from disadvantaged backgrounds and may have been placed in the care system for various reasons. They may have Emotional Social and Behavioural difficulties. Some Young People may have autism and other learning difficulties.

We are looking for individuals who possess the natural attributes required to work in this highly demanding but equally rewarding environment. If you think you have the attributes to become a Youth Support Worker and want to make a difference to someone’s life but have never had the opportunity to do so due to lack of experience or qualifications then this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for!

We have a dedicated training team who will train and fully equip you to work confidently and competently in any setting. Although no two days are the same the day to day routines will vary, dependant on age and needs of the Children & Young People.

General duties will include the following:

* Maintaining a safe and positive living environment

* Teaching basic life skills and living skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, shopping..

* Implementing Risk Assessments

* Interacting and taking part in social activities

* Providing support and guidance

* Helping young people become independent

* Keeping accurate records and writing reports

* Having excellent communication, time management and organisation skills

* Transporting children to school, college appointments and meetings using unit vehicles

* Additional sleep pay £35 per night, where applicable

Requirements:

* Must be 21 years of age or older to apply as per national minimum standards

* A full UK driving licence with access to a car is required as some settings may be in remote locations and you will also be required to drive the unit car

* Successful candidates will be required to obtain an enhanced DBS at a cost of £59 met by the employee unless you already have a current portable DBS.

* International Checks might also be required as part of compliance if you have lived, travelled or worked for an extended period abroad
