Due to growth, Gracewell of Frome are now recruiting for Care Assistants to join our expanding team. - We have full time and part time hours available on Day and Night shifts

About the role
Previous experience within the Care sector is not essential as we provide full comprehensive training. As an organisation we are extremely proud of the training and career development that we offer to all our team members. It’s really important for us and our residents to ensure that you to feel fully confident and comfortable in your role. All our new care team members undergo a 2 week induction programme including eLearning, commencement of your care certificate underpinning knowledge of 15 standards and practical sessions which include Memory Care Pathway, Falls documentation training, Dining experience and Allergen, Basic Care and Customer Service skills. We also arrange competency and shadow shifts as part of your training. Our Management team and Senior Care Assistants will be there every step of your career to guide and support you.

We will give you a 10p enhancement on your hourly rate after 6 months service, 20p after 12 months and 30p for 2 year’s service.

The Care Assistant is responsible for providing the highest standards of person centred care to our resident’s whilst maintaining dignity, respect and wellbeing. You will contribute to reviewing the Individual Service Plan for each Resident and assist with daily activities providing residents with both physical and emotional support and personal care as required. Gracewell is committed to supporting and developing all Care Assistants with ongoing training & leadership across all areas.As Care Assistant you will help with transporting residents to appointments and activities outside of the Home, serve food in the dining room, complete dining room clean-up and tidy resident’s rooms. You will also be trained on how to use Dementia Techniques to validate and recognise each individual resident within your role as Care Assistant

About you

Naturally compassionate with a caring disposition
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Experience preferred but not essential
NVQ 2/3 in Health and Social Care desirable or a willingness to undertake the qualification
Medication administration training and/or a willingness to undertake training if required
