Service Co-ordinator (Part Time, Contract)

Our client is an innovative charity that focuses on inspiring people to give the gift of voluntary service to support the NHS and older people at home and in the community. They are now looking for a Service Co-ordinator to join their team on a part time basis for a contract until the 30th September 2020.

If you’ve got experience of motivating volunteers and a decent grasp of health and social care services, this is the ideal role in which to do more, help people and deliver an incredible service that is making a huge difference to older people across Aberdeenshire.

You’ll discover that our client makes a difference every day and supports those who need them the most. Utilising the generous gift of time that their volunteers donate, our client strives to improve the lives of older people and particularly those who have become isolated or are in, or are just returning home from, hospital.

As a Service Co-ordinator, you will support the delivery of our client’s Healthy, Happy Lives Service. This incredible service provides support to older people with a view to improving their physical and/or cognitive function and emotional wellbeing.

Supporting the Service Manager to develop and deliver the service across Aberdeenshire, you will seek to reduce feelings of isolation and maintain wellbeing by connecting people with their community.

You will also:

- Support the running of enjoyable and engaging group sessions, nutritious food and activities
- Directly recruit, train and support a passionate team of volunteers to deliver the service
- Provide friendly, weekly engagement for individuals whose mobility and social interaction are limited
- Ensure that all activities are delivered within our client’s standards

Interested? To be considered, you will need:

- Knowledge and understanding of local health and social care services
- Experience of motivating teams of volunteers
- Excellent communication abilities at all levels
- The ability to act on your own initiative within agreed parameters

Self-motivated and resourceful, as the Service Co-ordinator, you’ll also have excellent interpersonal skills, a great eye for detail, a positive attitude and superb time-management abilities.

Experience of organising or running events would be beneficial to your application. Experience of supporting vulnerable or supported individuals in group settings would also be an advantage, as would the ability to use standard IT systems.

This is a part time role, working 18 hours per week, flexibly across three days.
