Design Manager for Award-winning Bespoke Joinery Business
London
£40000 - £50000 per annum

Design Manager required for an award-winning and innovative joinery business, primarily focused at supplying Interior Designers, Developers, Contractors and Architects with bespoke kitchen and cabinetry.

The company has been trading for five years and has a very strong brand and excellent image, reputation and online profile. We work with many different professionals and our ambition is to become one of the leading high-end B2B bespoke joinery businesses in the UK.

Our 6000sqft workshop is in Hounslow, where we have a CNC machine and spray booth. The design manager will be based between the workshop and the design studio of a sister Design & Build / Interior Design company in Chiswick.

He/she will form part of the key management team of the business, working directly with the MD and Operations/Installations Manager.

ABOUT THE DESIGN MANAGER ROLE:

The successful candidate will have an excellent eye for design, strong technical skills and superb client-facing skills.

He/she will have proven experience in designing intricate bespoke joinery pieces and kitchens, both direct from a client brief and also from concept drawings from 3rd party Interior designers / architects, and the proven ability to develop these into fully fledged shop drawings for production.

We currently use Autocad, Inventor and Cabinet Vision as software packages.

We envisage the new recruit to be quite hands-on with the design in the short term, supported by our freelance designers and a part-time junior designer. The goal will be to put in best practises throughout the design & sign/off process.

Kitchen experience is desirable, as we make a lot of kitchens for our sister company, so the ability to hold the client's hand through the emotional journey of choosing their kitchen would be a plus.

One of the main aspects of the role is client liaison, so the successful candidate will be extremely presentable, a clear communicator and have excellent inter-personal skills: in order to be a strong ambassador for the brand.

Once the design is signed off the Design Manager will pass the job to production and will work closely with the Workshop & Operations managers to schedule the design and production calendar.

The successful candidate should be able to display acute commercial awareness and proven experience in pricing.

Salary negotiable depending on experience.
