Want a Summary of the Role?

You will be part of the Product Owners team and work with other cyber professionals across Digital Cyber Security and the wider organisation, contributing to the success the team across multiple aspects. Your focus as Product Owner would be to support the complete lifecycle of one or more cyber products owned by the department. You will help by maintaining the quality required from a customer perspective and acting as an impartial guide to challenge and support as needed to achieve the desired product quality.

This role in particular will focus on cyber security intelligence and threat protection products to begin with, very exciting and cutting edge within our industry!


Who are the team and the business area?

Digital Cyber Security is the department responsible for ensuring the continued safety and security of the Bank's Digital footprint. This is achieved through core activities in Cyber Security, Threat and Vulnerability Management, DDoS protection, and delivering change projects into the organisation. The department maintains plan, build, and operate aspects of digital cyber security.

Group Transformation are driving a bank wide transformation initiative to provide our customers with the best service/products possible, cyber security is pivotal to ensure we transform safely while working at pace.

So what am I responsible for?

You would plan and manage support to a defined area (s) of the business, participating as a member of the assigned business team and ensuring the provision of an efficient operation which meets customer needs. This will involve supporting, steering and challenging stakeholders to keep everything on track, provide insightful cyber security information, guidance and advice to influence business decisions which enables business area to gain a full understanding of the implications linked to their decisions.

You will help define user requirements and test/implement computer systems, processes, procedures, products or services, ensuring these support operational efficiency and provide data to meet the changing needs of the business. You will act as a role model for and positively influence others by demonstrating core LBG values and behaviours which is especially important in the product owner role.

You would support or assume responsibility for agreed change projects, coordinating plans and resources to achieve agreed deliverables and continuous improvement plus monitoring risks.

Lastly we wanted to say you will have scope to organise your role with a good level of autonomy.

What experience, skills and knowledge will I need to do this role?

We like people who come from a variety of backgrounds and welcome having a diverse team. To be seriously considered you will need to come from either a background as a Product Owner with five years history in the field and a strong interest in digital cyber security, or you could be an existing digital cyber security specialist with 5 years plus experience who wants to work as a Product Owner. If your background is within Cyber we would like to see in depth knowledge of cyber security applications/processes, while if you come from a product owner background we would like to see a history of success in that role.

In terms of personality you would suit this role well if you are comfortable working with senior managers, helping to influence and guide them to make the best decisions based on your cyber security knowledge. You should feel comfortable challenging thoughts an opinions within an open environment, be customer centric and be passionate about making a difference. Lastly, we work in an Agile project environment, so any exposure to Agile working would be beneficial.
