An exciting opportunity has become available working within a leading autism focused organisation in Portsmouth; Gosport. The job is working within an adults supported living home in Gosport and offers flexible working hours. Our client has bank hours; part time hours and also full time hours available for support workers in the local area. This job is paying between £8.21 and £9.53 / hour and offers flexibke hours weekly.

If you are seeking bank support work where you can pick and choose the hours you wish to work on a week by week basis, and are flexible to work 7am til 2pm or 2.30pm til 10pm shifts we would love to hear from you.

Our client is proud to deliver quality services designed to meet the needs of families, young people and adults with autism in the local area of Portsmouth. They are seeking calm natured support workers who are able to cope and manage challenging behaviours with a person centred approach. Experience of autism, learning disabilities, non-verbal communication and working with challenging behaviours is desirable. However; our client provides a superb comprehensive mandatory training programme to all staff which supports their knowledge and development of essential skills to do this job well.

Main duties include:

Working as part of a small friendly team; in a supported living unit which is home to 6 adult service users.
Assisting adults with all aspects of their daily lives;
Supporting those with complex needs such as challenging behaviour, autism and learning difficulties.
Delivering person- centred care and support to those within a supported living home based in Gosport.
Enabling clients to have greater independence and make their own personal choices.
Support within the supported living unit and community support is required,
Some personal care assistance and prompting is required but there are no manual handling requirements

Job Requirements:
Your approach will be person-centred with the ability to calmly manage challenging situations,
You will demonstrate empathy with others and adapt easily to change.
You will looking to Pick your shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and bank holiday.
Experience within the sector is desirable but not essential - remember personal experience within this field is also valuable to the career path you are seeking.
A Driving License is desirable but not essential.
Comfortable with some personal care duties

A Driving License is desirable but not essential Hour of work:

We are currently seeking bank support workers who have a variety of hours available on a week by week basis and can work a mixture of early and late shifts. This would ideally suit someone with a second job; a student; someone looking to return to work; new to care or someone with a varied week by week availability.
We are seeking part time workers who would like a steady flow of hours week by week and with the possibility of developing into more stable job as and when you feel ready.
We also have full time permanent jobs available if you are looking for something more guaranteed and are able to commit to every other weekend work, 1 sleep in per week and a guaranteed 37.5 hours work per week.
Shift time can be as follows: A mixture of early, mid shifts and lates. Shifts tend to be 7am starts til 2pm finish, 2.30pm start until 10pm finish. Long days are available if desired and we also have some 9am til 4pm shifts.
We also have waking night shifts available if this is a preference.Benefits
