We are currently seeking support workers to work within a supported living homes based in Fareham. The jobs are based within small 5 bedded supported living units working with adults with learning difficulties, physical disabilities and complex needs. These jobs are paying between £8.21 and £9.15 per hour; rising to £9.60 per hour after a qualifying period of time. This is a bank support worker job which means you will be offered work on a week by week basis and can therefore work as many or as few shifts as you require.

This job would suit someone looking for additional hours along side a second job, a student or someone looking to gain more experience within this field before starting a more full time job.

Many of our units require full time staff so this is a great way of gaining experience within a potentially new permanent place of work.

We also have waking night support hours available in the same locations should you prefer to work night shifts.

The shifts that we invariably have are waking night shifts starting at 10pm til 7am, and day shifts 7am til 2.30pm, 2.30pm til 10pm. We do on occasions require sleep in staff also.

In addition to the hours outlined above we also have a number of additional roles we are seeking support workers and care assistance for - these range from full time and part time work; contracted; permanent as well as adhoc shifts. Main duties within our Support Worker vacancies:

Supporting service users with complex needs within supported living units
Assisting with meal preparation
Supporting clients within day groups and social activities
Assisting with personal hygiene care
Encouraging client's independence
Helping with general housekeeping
Manual Handling and hoisting may be required.
Medication prompting/ administering if required (training can be provided)
Supporting with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

Flexible shifts - weekdays, evenings and weekendsOur clients in the social care sector call weekly with hours they need covering, these vary each week and range between early, late and nights shifts. Whichever unit you work within you will be supporting adults with a variety of complex needs and will need to hold strong communication skills, be flexible in your working approach to adapt to the needs of the individuals in your care; be able to assist with meal preparation, daily living tasks, medication assistance and all aspects of personal, social and emotional care. You will have a willing attitude and be able to work as part of a team to encourage and support the service users in order for them to lead ordinary lives in their local communities.
