About Consumer Onboarding

Consumer Onboarding will give you the opportunity to work in a fun dynamic team who are at the forefront of being responsible for the way customers & colleagues in transforming & digitising the Lloyds Banking Group Retail Bank across internet banking.

About the role

An exciting hands-on Back-End Software Engineer role is available within the Chester-based Credit Cards lab primarily working on back-end applications using Java/Spring. In the future the role may have the opportunity to work on full-stack, front and back end. The role works within a team of Software Engineers, Quality Engineers and DevOps Engineers in a highly collaborative way to design, build, support and improve our middle/back-end software working closely with the Product teams.

An ideal Software Engineer for Consumer Onboarding will need to have a can-do, positive and highly collaborative attitude and ability to effectively work with multi-disciplinary, internal and external distributed teams across the software development lifecycle.

Some of the activities you'll be involved in:

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle to design, build, test, deploy and support digital systems.
  • Work hands-on to deliver the highest quality software.
  • Work in a feature team delivering exciting customer driven solutions.
  • Work in a highly collaborative way to complete assigned work, showcase progress and address problems.
  • Collaborate with the Product team to implement credit card banking products.

What skills and background we're looking for

You'll have significant hands-on experience in software engineering using a broad range of technologies including those listed below:

  • Java/Spring/Hibernate/Databases
  • Rest/SOAP
  • CI/CD/DevOps tooling experience including GIT, Docker, Cypress, jMeter etc.
  • Quality Engineering including test automation
  • Web based application development
  • Agile experience and excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong experience of the entire software development lifecycle and extensive experience in delivery of software.
  • A team-player who can build relationships and work productively with others across a variety of domains and disciplines.
  • Passion for technology and its application to real-world problems.
  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals.

You'll also have an excellent interpersonal and communications skills whilst efficiently working across the software development process to ensure software operates as intended; and an interest in continual development with industry standard methodology in order to advance themselves and software engineering in the team.
