Role Overview
An opportunity exists for an experienced Principal Commercial Manager to join our prestigious portfolio of works on Wales and Borders contract with Transport for Wales (TfW). TfW is a delivery agent for the Welsh Government and exists to drive forward the Welsh Government's vision of a high quality, safe, integrated, affordable and accessible transport network that the people of Wales are proud of.
Focusing specifically on the development of the traincare facility and maintenance depot at Taffs Well you will work alongside Estimators, Project Managers and a small Commercial team to deliver works with a value of £50m. The Taffs Well development is predominantly buildings and civils-based works, as such Amey will be acting as a Management Contractor for this project. As Principal Commercial Manager you will be responsible for engaging with the client and maintaining a productive and successful relationship, managing subcontractors, managing the portfolio's P&L and steering application processes. You will also support, mentor and develop the Commercial Team working on the portfolio of works on Cardiff rail with Transport for Wales.
What are we looking for?
This role requires an experienced Principal Commercial Manager with demonstrable experience of leading on high profile works. A background of projects in the construction or civils industries is desirable, as well as knowledge of NEC contracts.
You should have excellent communication and relationship building skills within a commercial environment, as well as the ability to successfully develop others.
