Core to Eurosport’s strategy for engaging our Sports audience is creating authentic, intuitive, and delightful digital products. As a Senior User Experience (UX) Designer, you will be responsible for defining the user experience across Eurosport Digital products. You will help create a framework for UX patterns in a multi-device environment spanning web, mobile, tablet, smart TV, OTT devices and games consoles, ensuring that our users have a best-in-class digital sports experience that informs and inspires. 

 

As a Senior UX Designer in the Eurosport UXD team, you will report into the Design Director and work with creative leadership and key partners to deliver our products and services through our multi-device experiences. You will need to be an experienced and well-rounded UX professional connecting the dots between business needs, innovation and good design. This role will work closely with Product, Development, Editorial, Advertising and Marketing teams to deliver product experiences that will place ES Digital properties ahead of market. You will lead and mentor more junior team members to help them grow and develop their abilities within this discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership - As a Senior member of the UXD team, champion a user-centric design process and a culture of customer-focused product discovery and delivery within ES Digital. 
  • Output - Owning the delivery of elegant solutions across ES Digital’s suite of products – from discovery through to definition, prototyping and validation. 
  • Research - Lead in and design user experience research and usability studies, from quick validation to large-scale qualitative and quantitative research projects 
  • Analysis - Analyse and translate qualitative and quantitative research findings into actionable insights and user experience recommendations. 
  • Document and share progress- Create and document UX design and research principles and guidelines for ES Digital ecosystem. 
  • Strategic decisions – Confident supporting and challenging requirements, briefs and assumptions.
  • Building knowledge across the team – Lead regular UX workshops, reviews and other team-wide design efforts as well as help drive the understanding and importance of UX across the organisation.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in the field – 5+ years of hands on experience with a range of UI/UX and interactive work and the accompanying portfolio of digital experiences.
  • Stakeholder management – Comfortable managing expectations, challenging and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Design experience - Demonstrable experience designing for responsive web, mobile native and other connected devices, and quick and complex prototyping when required
  • UX Expertise - Experience of a range of User Experience specialisms, including as user research, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, user testing. 
  • Tools – Expert proficiency with Axure, Sketch, Invision, Adobe CS or other relevant tools.
  • Technical understanding – Familiarity with development software and development processes.
  • Taking people with you – Proven ability to act as a leader in communicating UX design design rationale, all within a user-centered design process through engaging story telling to ultimately sell the vision.
  • Time-management – Must be self-motivated to prioritise and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines as well as manage others. Ideally this may include line management and development of non-senior team members.
  • Team work and Problem Solving– Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships across the business, and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Commercial awareness – Appreciation and understanding of the commercial landscape and ecommerce trends and always aware of the balance between user and business requirements.
  • Self-starter – Ability to fill in the gaps, and push past blockers, to always deliver great designs
  • Design Passion – Strong interest in the latest design, UX and technology trends, with a drive to be a trend setter within your field of expertise.
  • A strong interest in sport preferred but not mandatory.
