Service Co-ordinator (Part Time, Contract)
Royal Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy
£8.57 per hour
Royal Voluntary Service is an innovative charity that focuses on inspiring people to give the gift of voluntary service to support the NHS and older people at home and in the community. We are now looking for two part time Service Co-ordinators to join us for a six month contract to the end of May 2020 which has a high likelihood of being extended.
If you are an organised and friendly individual, this is the ideal role in which to do more, help people and support some incredible services that are making a huge difference to older people in hospital.
You’ll discover that Royal Voluntary Service makes a difference every day and supports those who need us the most. Utilising the generous gift of time that our volunteers donate, we strive to improve the lives of older people, particularly those who are in hospital or just returning home.
As a Service Co-ordinator, you will support the Service Manager to set up and co-ordinate the two new volunteer-run services at Royal Victoria Hospital.
The On Ward Service supports patients during their hospital stay, encouraging to eat and drink and increase wellbeing through cognitive and physical exercises to ensure a successful discharge home from hospital. The Patient Transport service ensures that patients are accompanied home after a hospital stay by volunteers and provides company and reassurance back at home.
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will:
- Recruit, train and match volunteers with clients
- Support the day-to-day co-ordination of the service
- Help to ensure growth and uptake of the service
- Ensure that all data is recorded in-line with our standards
Interested? To be considered as a Service Co-ordinator, you'll have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A great eye for detail, a positive attitude and superb time-management abilities are also key.
National 5 certificates (or equivalent) at grade C or above in Maths and English would be beneficial, as would proficiency in standard IT systems.
This is a part time role, working 21 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Flexible working options will be considered.
The closing date for applications is the 21st November 2019.
