Receptionist
St Mary Bourne / Whitchurch
Monday to Friday (various P/T shifts)
£8.50 per hour
Our client is a friendly rural GP practice and is looking for an efficient receptionist/administrator to provide reception services to patients and visitors to the practice.
You will have experience in administration or working with the public on reception, ideally in a GP or healthcare setting but not essential, but you must have good communication skills and be committed to great customer service.
Main Duties
* Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice.
* Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments and contact patients if their appointment changes.
* Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
* Open and scan post and ensure it is electronically distributed correctly.
* Prepare outgoing post.
* Contact patients in the event of any changes to their booking or a clinic.
* Book transport and ambulances when required.
* Ensure that all new patients are registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately and make up files where required.
* Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new and temporary patients and ensure procedures are followed.
The successful candidate will have the following:
* Have excellent organisational skills
* The ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure
* Be pro-active and have a positive attitude.
* Good IT skills are essential
