Bilingual Support Assistant (Arabic)
ASL Service
Salary: £18,316 - £21,190 (Pro-rata for part time and sessional)
Hours: 27.5 per week / 39 weeks
As a bilingual support assistant you will work within the English as an additional language team of the additional support for learning service in Edinburgh schools.
You will work under the guidance of teachers to support bilingual children's learning in the classroom and to support communication with parents.
You will be fluent in English and Arabic. You will have a good general education. Experience of working with school age children in a professional setting is essential.
Bilingual support assistants are employed during schools term times (39 weeks) and paid (pro-rata) across the year. This post is for 27.5 hours per week (days and times to be agreed with the successful candidate).
Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
