We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our GCS team as Group Energy Market Manager on a permanent basis, reporting into the Group Commercial Services Director. In this unique role you'll be the subject matter expert (SME) on the UK energy market and Government energy policies, providing guidance to VWG on the provision of green energy and related services to our customers.

As the energy market SME you’ll be prominent in the development and implementation of our energy strategy that will support VWG’s e-mobility ambitions, whilst being responsible for managing providers and suppliers of energy, actively working with them to build insight and understanding of the future risks and opportunities so that we are best placed to embrace them.

You will have the emotional intelligence and gravitas to build and maintain relationships with key government bodies as well as senior level internal stakeholders to influence decisions and outcomes. Along with your in-depth knowledge of energy markets you will also be a business driven, critical thinker with the ability to be innovative in delivering solutions for our business.

To be successful in this role you will have a track record with regulatory affairs within the energy industry and a thorough understanding of the political processes at both a national and European level as well as a fundamental understanding of e-mobility.
