Are you looking for a fun, new and exciting role?

We are looking for Employment Facilitators to work across the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and BANES area on a full or part time basis.

We have built on the success of our award-winning Supported Internship Study Programme and developed this into a national model: Interns and Outcomes. This is a programme that offers people with a learning disability, aged 16 to 24 years old, to have the opportunity to get practical work-based learning experience which will provide a smooth transition from education to paid employment or further study.

Our programme offers a wide range of benefits, helping those with a learning disability to:

- Raise their aspirations
- Build skills and confidence
- Have a better understanding of employment
- Show employers what they can do
- Progress towards paid work

In this role, you will be part of the team delivering an employment programme with referrals from colleges and schools in the local area. You will support people with a learning disability to increase and gain their skills to enable them to work and maintain paid jobs, you will do this by engaging with employers to agree suitable vacancies for people with a learning disability. You will also provide support in one-to-one sessions within a work experience placement to learn a job. You will be expected to have good communication skills both internally and externally with carers, the individuals we support and their families.

You will help support group work and activities to allow the people we support to access their local community, along with libraries, Job Centres, creating CV`s, learning new skills, behaviour management, team work, improving their functional skills - English and maths as well as helping them to access other support agencies.

You will need the ability to work on your own initiative and to develop our local services through proactive approaches. Good interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively with clients, employers, and other professionals is essential. The ability to maintain accurate and up to date records using IT based systems is also required. Ideally, you will have employer engagement and marketing experience - as an important aspect of the role is creating work opportunities for the people we support.

A full UK drivers licence is essential.

Key skills and experiences:

- Knowledge of the benefit system is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of Learning Disability is essential.
- Employer engagement would be advantageous but not essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential
- Willingness to travel
- Great team working skills
- Must be flexible to changing working environments
- Willingness to undergo additional training as and when required

This is a fantastic opportunity and a highly rewarding post to positively help people with a learning disability and challenge attitudes towards learning disability as a whole.
