What is the purpose of this role?

Amey Environmental Services is on the lookout for a Street Cleansing Manager to be based across our three Surrey sites. The Street Cleansing Supervisor will plan and deliver Street Cleansing Schedules, act as a lead for the LADS surveys and provide improvement plans in line with contract requirements.



What will this role involve?

  • Accountable for the completion of daily site inspections across all 3 site areas to monitor quality standards and provide feedback to Principle Operations Managers and Site Managers.
  • To work effectively as a team with Site Managers and Assistant Site Managers to ensure optimum levels of service, quality and productivity are achieved consistently at all times.
  • Acts as an SME for Street Cleansing Services across the contract, supporting Site Managers where necessary.
  • Ensure service delivery meets defined key performance indicators whilst driving best practice and continuous improvement in cost control and productivity.
  • Defines and supports the development of the drivers and staff as a whole by identifying and sharing best practice
  • Manages and ensure compliance of Health & Safety, Environmental, Employment legislation and Company policy to ensure defined standards and best practice are adhered to.
  • Deliver a culture where safety is never compromised.
  • Proactively monitor LADS performance and ensure corrective action is taken for any failures.
  • Provide reports and feedback to stakeholders as required.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiency to contribute to revenue generation and control costs.
  • Provide plans for leafing and other special events.
  • Annual leave/sick absence cover for Assistant Site Manager.

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Ensures that all relevant legislative requirements are adhered to and that Company procedures and standards (including Health and Safety, personnel, finance and Transport) are maintained.
  • Undertake Crew checks and VFLs to ensure to ensure compliance to health & safety, vehicle and PPE policies.
  • Assist with inductions for new employees and agency workers.
  • Proactively manage annual leave in accordance with annual leave ceilings.
  • Engage employees/team to deliver and reinforce Amey's culture and values; Ensuring thorough communication of change and new processes; motivate and provide guidance to individuals and team
  • Represent Amey's values and act as a personal role model in driving adherence to core procedures, policies and system
  • Supervise work of outsourced labour/ sub-contractors



What are we looking for?

  • Supervisory experience preferably in the street cleansing industry.
  • Local geographical knowledge
  • Good transport / logistics knowledge
  • Full clean driving license
  • Willingness to complete ongoing career development as required.
  • Ability to deal with people effectively at all levels.
  • Computer literate.
  • Flexible can-do attitude - good at making things work and getting the job done.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
