Assistant Residential Worker - Waking nights

Location: Hexham

Hours: Permanent, Part-Time (working 30 hours a week)

Salary: £20,400 per annum, pro rata

Interviews will be held on 5th Dec. Please be aware this will be a full day interview that will involve written and group exercises.

Monksfield provides care and support to children aged 6-17 years with moderate to severe learning and or complex health and physical disabilities, consisting of two units. Acorn provides 5 short break beds and Adlin House is a 4-bedded long-stay Childrens Homes in Hexham run by Action for Children. We are a highly motivated and supportive team, providing care, encouragement and support to the children who live within Adlin House. Ofsted rated the service provided to disabled children and families as "Good', and we are focused on working towards achieving 'Outstanding'

As an Assistant Residential Worker Waking Nights, you will be working 10 hour shifts 3 nights per week on a rota basis and 1 day shift once per month. You will help our team provide a safe, stimulating, fun and caring environment, supporting the children with household tasks and all aspects of their care. You'll also attend training, team meetings and supervision during the day on the one day shift per month.

Doing vital work that has a direct and lasting effect, you'll be helping some of our most vulnerable children, their families and our society. Like us you'll deal in action, always ready to intervene to ensure the children in our care are safe, happy and well cared for.

What will you need?

Commitment to working on a 24-hour shift rota pattern which includes evenings, weekends and some bank holidays
A Level 3 Diploma (formerly known as NVQ) in Children and Young People or equivalent or the willingness to work towards this
Experience of working with disabled young people
Excellent communication skills
Safeguarding knowledge
A positive approach, providing a fun environment for all the children in our care.
Access to a car would be desirable due to the location and the opportunity to be trained to drive the home's minibus. How will we reward you?
