Job brief
We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, payments and payroll.
The bookkeeper job duties include working closely with our wider business team to create and analyse financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments.
Our ideal candidate possesses relevant NVQ/SVQ qualifications or specialist qualifications such as AAT and is familiar with Xero accounting software.
Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company.
Key responsibilities:
Accountable for delivering an accurate trail of company spending, the Bookkeeper is responsible for the variety of activities that can include:
- Daily usage of financial processes, enhancing and updating where needed
- Management of sales ledger
- Maintaining accounts, verifying and posting transactions
- Balancing accounts on a day-to-day or week-to-week basis
- Recording assets and handling investments
- Managing invoices & payments
- Liaising with tenants, landlords, suppliers and banking contacts
- Working closely with accountants to prepare year end accounts and VAT returns where applicable
- Preparing schedules, statements and reports as requested
- Managing & filing relevant documentation
- Payroll and pension processing
The Ideal Candidate:
- Possess first-rate numerical skills
- Strong bookkeeping skills and previous experience in a similar role
- Solid organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, including relationship building with individuals across the business
- Highly computer literate with experience of accounting packages
- Ability to work quickly, accurately and to deadlines, using a logical and methodical approach
- Possess relevant NVQ/SVQ qualifications or specialist qualifications such as AAT
- Knowledge of Excel or other spreadsheets
Salary: £15 per hour
Working hours: Minimum 4 hours per day. Minimum 4 days per week but ideally 5 days per week
