The London Legacy Development Corporation’s purpose is to use the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of the London 2012 Games and the creation of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to develop a dynamic heart for east London. The Legacy Corporation is responsible for delivering one of the most important Olympic legacy promises made in the original London 2012 Games bid. Our task is to transform and integrate one of the most challenged areas in the UK into world-class, sustainable and thriving neighbourhoods, a thriving business zone and a must-see destination where people choose to live, work, play and return time and time again.

Role Summary

We are looking for a talented, pro-active and customer driven professional, to lead on the Legacy Corporation’s consumer, B2B, place marketing strategy and brand strategy. As the Head of Marketing and Brand you will also oversee the digital marketing strategy and corporate publications. A key responsibility is working closely with partners on and around the Park ensuring key relationships and collaborations are maximised and activity co-ordinated. This includes vital partnership work on the exciting East Bank project – the new powerhouse of innovation, creativity and learning currently being built on the Park (and scheduled to start opening in 2022). Your work will form a key part of the organisation’s commercial strategy as well as driving the legacy benefits of the Park and London 2012 Games for local people and Londoners. You will also work closely with the wider business to ensure that we meet our statutory communication requirements such as planning consultations, annual reports and transparency information.

The Person

The ideal candidate for this post will have a degree in a relevant subject or the equivalent in experience. You must demonstrate previous experience of managing a multi-functional marketing and brand team and have adequate knowledge of the political landscape within which the LLDC operates and how this impacts the organisation’s marketing and communication strategy. Your experience working with internal and external partners is essential as is your ability to work across a wide range of projects supporting other LLDC teams. You will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to establish a rapport, build relationships and influence others effectively. As the Head of a team you must be personally credible with a professional demeanour and be able to set yourself and others challenging objectives. We are looking for a pro-active and creative individual who is forward thinking and can identify links and opportunities that may be missed by others.
