Landscape Architect
You will assist in delivery of the Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDs) Approval Body (SAB) function in accordance with the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 and the Flood Risk Regulations 2009.
Main activities
*You will assist the Infrastructure division in preparing, liaising and advising on matters relating to the design and maintenance of green infrastructure, including sustainable drainage and environmental engineering schemes acting as the Infrastructure division's point of contact for landscape design and water sensitive urban design.
*Prepare designs for and advise on Sustainable Drainage Approval Body (SAB) applications.
*Undertake a series of landscape design and improvement projects, within the rural and urban environment, including concept and detailed design and tender preparation.
Essential criteria
*A good understanding of the issues facing the landscapes of the south Wales Valleys.
*A good knowledge of SAB processes.
*A good understanding of water sensitive urban design
*A good understand of maximising amenity and biodiversity value of development through the design of sustainable drainage systems
*A thorough understanding of contract management and CDM Regulations.
*A good understanding of countryside planning and environmental law.
*Considerable demonstrable experience of working within the landscape industry and managing landscape programmes.
*Demonstrable experience of advising on green infrastructure, water sensitive urban design and sustainable drainage projects and a good knowledge of planning processes.
*Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute.
