Support Workers - Driver Essential

Location: We have multiple vacancies available across North and South Lanarkshire.
Salary: £9.00 Per Hour.
Contract: Full and Part Time Hours Available.

We are looking for motivated and confident Support Workers who will work in a person centred way to ensure consistent support for each individual. The people we support have sensory impairments and are supported to be as independent as possible. The individuals we support do not communicate through speech, so you will be required to work hard to develop and understand how each person communicates and respect their need for routine. Individuals have complex health needs but you will receive full training in understanding the people you will be supporting, and there is a full support plan in place for each individual.

Personal care and administration of medication is also part of the role. We will require you to support individuals in their chosen activities and help them develop new activities and relationships where possible.

Each individual has their own vehicle which you will be required to drive on their behalf so a driving licence is essential.

Family members are key people in the lives of each individual and working in partnership with families and building relationships through trust is an essential part of the role.

Airdrie – 37 Hours

You will be part of a team offering 24 hour support to an individual. Candidates have to be available to work shifts over 7 days including sleepovers. This role involves lone working some of the time, including when on sleepover.

The individual has their own unique interests which include sensory, swimming, walking, spending time with family and friends.

Blantyre – 1 x 16 Hours and 1 x 23 Hours Wakened Nightshift

You will be part of a team offering 24 hour support to 2 individuals (1 male and 1 female) in Blantyre. We are looking to recruit a dedicated person who will work early, mid and backshifts as required. Rota is over 7 days a week and shifts suit the needs of the people we support.

We also have a 23 hour vacancy for a wakened night shift support worker. You will join the dedicated night team, this is lone working and you will have a thorough induction and shadowing period before supporting people alone, to enable you to build relationships.

Hamilton – 1 x 13 Hours and 1 x 37 Hours (Temporary for 6 Months)

We are looking to recruit support workers who are sensitive to people's needs, are proactive in supporting people to lead active lives and have a good understanding of the need to support people to stay healthy and safe and manage risk accordingly. Good team-working skills and a positive attitude are also essential qualities.

The two individuals live near to two local parks and with easy access to bus and train transport in the Hamilton area. Both individuals have a range of interests and like to lead a full and active life. They both enjoy different activities that include going to football matches, music concerts, out for walks in the park, social clubs.

Each individual has their own one to one support but share some support hours at times when it suits their needs. The successful applicant will therefore be required to undertake some lone working but work alongside another member of staff when the support needs of the individuals and their chosen activities coincide. There will be a combination of early and late shifts for staff and we will be recruiting a team of waking night staff.

Successful applicants must be in a position to gain qualification as determined by the SSSC for registration purposes and be able to gain professional registration with the SSSC within the timescale required, where relevant.

Our vision is for the people we work with to live meaningful and independent lives in a world which supports them to achieve their own ambitions.
