Lexcel accredited firm in Tyne and Wear seeks a dynamic Mental Health Lawyer/Fee Earner on a full-time, permanent basis. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilful lawyer/fee earner to join our client’s multi-accredited practice situated in Newcastle upon Tyne. The successful applicant will utilise their expertise to handle a complex caseload of mental health matters. This role is open to both part-time and full-time applicants. Responsibilities • Appeals to Upper Tribunal • Capacity • Court of Protection matters • Deprivation of Liberty • Detention under the Mental Health Act • Hospital Managers' Hearings • Care programme approach meetings • Dealing with vulnerable clients The Candidate • Solicitors, legal executives and paralegals with a minimum of one year’s PQE • Paralegals who have undertaken a mental health elective as part of their LPC will also be considered • Technical expertise in mental health law is essential • Mental Health Panel membership as well as experience in mental capacity is desired • A full driving licence is required • Excel in communication and client care The Firm Our client is a multi-office practice, delivering a full range of legal services to individuals and businesses both locally and further afield.
