Pre-School Deputy Manager
Ruislip
Term time only.
Part time: 15-30hrs per week
Exact hours can be arranged (pre times are Monday-Friday 7.30am-3pm)
Our client is a small, relatively new pre-school which has been open for just over a year. Based in a church building with a bright airy hall, bright rooms and on-site parking, they pride themselves on creating a personal and homely environment for children and their families. They believe every child deserves the best start in life, and they support this to enable children to fulfil their potential. They want children to feel at ease in a vibrate environment, where they feel confident to learn.
They are now looking to expand further and are therefore seeking to employ a Pre-School Deputy Manager, to join their friendly team.
Responsibilities include:
Providing day to day care to children
Acting as a key person
Planning fun and stimulating activities
Carrying out daily risk assessments
Ensuring the safety of children
Basic cleaning during the day
Training colleagues
Maintaining paperwork
Stepping in for the manager when necessary
As this is a newish pre-school, you can bring your ideas and experience to help build their setting to a thriving pre-school, and therefore grow further with them. You will need to be confident in implementing the EYFS framework, policies and procedures as well as mentoring and training staff.
The role will involve supporting the manager with the day to day running of the pre-school - this will involve staff management, updating policies and procedures, dealing with Ofsted, outside agencies and ensuring the pre-school is running smoothly.
Experience required:
At least two years’ experience as a Nursery Deputy Manager or similar role in an early year setting
Have proven deputy experience in a setting with a 'good' or 'outstanding' Ofsted
Experience of working with a staff team
Excellent staff management skills
Be passionate about providing the highest quality of childcare possible
The ability to work on own initiative
Very strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent understanding of Planning, Observations and Assessments
Qualifications required:
Level 3 qualified minimum in Early Years and Childcare (Essential)
An equivalent or higher management qualification and/or a further qualification in Childcare
Up to date first aid (desirable)
Up to date Safeguarding (desirable)
If this sounds like the opportunity for you, please apply ASAP.
