A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded and dynamic Workplace Health, Safety & Environment professional to join our team, where we take pride in embedding the importance and value of Workplace Health & Safety across our business and assets globally.

Reporting directly to the Global Head of Workplace Health, Safety & Environment, you will be review, enhance and maintain Macquarie Capital’s WHSE framework and/or develop frameworks/management system for solar and wind platforms. This will involve developing training modules and education programs for asset managers and nominee directors.  You will define the scope of external Workplace Health, Safety & Environment due-diligence engagements and assist deal teams with reviewing the results and translating recommendations into action plans. Working with the asset managers, you will establish Key Performance Indicators and related reporting and monitoring processes to review asset and industry data, and develop actions for continuous improvement

To be successful in this role, you will possess a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Workplace Health, Safety & Environment professional in either an internal or external advisory capacity or as part of a broader operations role, with exposure to infrastructure/renewables (specifically wind/solar/waste to energy)/resources and know local and/or regional Health, Safety & Environment regulations. You will hold an appropriate tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (i.e. engineering, environmental, safety), and have at least 5 years of field experience working in a construction safety oversight capacity.

This role requires extensive travel regionally to complete field audits, work with asset manager teams, and support Workplace Health, Safety & Environment due diligence activities for renewable platforms (onshore wind, solar, waste to energy).

This role is in Macquarie Capital, specifically within the Green Investment Group. Macquarie Capital provides advisory and capital raising services to corporate and government clients involved in public mergers and acquisitions, private treaty acquisitions and divestments, debt and equity fundraising and corporate restructuring.
