Do you love your current job as a Cook but would prefer more sociable working hours?

Are you interested in a more fulfilling role where the health and nutrition of older people is paramount?

Bield is Scotland's largest housing association and is eager to recruit an experienced Cook for our Retirement Housing with Meals Service in Oban, Torosay Court.

We are looking for the right people to prepare, cook and serve healthy, nutritious dishes and be responsible for menu planning, food purchase and the provision of high-quality meals and snacks for service users in a care setting.

You will ensure that all food hygiene and health and safety standards set by Bield and external regulators are met. You will also consult with service users to ensure individual dietary needs are met.

Hours of employment are 21 hours per week, organised as follows:

Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10:00am - 6:00pm (including a 1 hour unpaid lunch break)

Role Requirements

You must have experience of delivering a high standard of meal service with an understanding of nutritional and dietary requirements of older people. An intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent is desirable. There are also opportunities to join our bank of casual workers.

The hourly rate for our Cooks is GBP 9.07 and we offer excellent holidays of up to 34 days each year (pro rata for part-time employees), with the option to buy or sell holidays each year. We also pay the cost of Disclosure checks for employment opportunities.
