A leading international corporate & investment bank is looking for an ER Manager to join their UK HR team on a part time basis. Working three or four days, the ER Manager will provide expertise and deliver results in all matters relating to employee relations, implementing best practice and managing risk. This is a standalone role requiring the incumbent to support and work closely with the Head of HR, HR Business Partners and Business Leaders on all ER matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the delivery of all employee related issues e.g. redundancy, disciplinary, capability, grievance, absenteeism, TUPE, dismissal procedures,

  • Advise and support managers in dealing with cases of underperformance and PIP process advisory support

  • Manage end to end case management on all ER cases, continuously looking at ways to further improve best practice

  • Work closely with HR Business Partners and Business Leaders on large scale, complex, high risk cases, including supporting the in house Legal team on Employment Tribunal cases

  • Engage with Managers and be seen as the 'go to' person for advice on ER matters

  • Develop, review and update HR policies, 'how to' guides and improve existing practice on an ongoing basis

  • Manage informal issues/grievances with a view to preventing them from becoming formal cases

  • Advise and coach the wider HR team and managers to swiftly resolve ER matters

  • Support from an ER perspective on any change management initiatives

Requirements:

  • Strong UK ER / Employment Law background preferably gained within investment banking / financial services / professional services environment;

  • Degree level qualification and ideally CIPD (or other relevant qualification)

  • Experience of developing and managing ER policies and procedures

  • Good knowledge of industry practice and supporting networks;

  • Ability to challenge when needed;

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team

  • Gravitas and good communication skills

  • Ability to influence sound ER decisions
