Job Description

Do you have practical experience of working with offenders or clients with complex needs? This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a strong multi-agency team reducing crime by working with some of the most prolific and persistent offenders in Wandsworth.

The Community Safety Service work to prevent crime and anti-social behaviour through community collaboration, neighbourhood problem solving and multi-agency working. Specific areas covered by the team include reducing Violence against Women and Girls, tackling Hate Crime, reducing Knife Crime and Violence, managing adult offenders, Countering Extremism and Preventing Radicalisation. This is a friendly and busy team covering a diverse range of policy areas and fulfilling an important role in both Wandsworth and Richmond.

The Integrated Offender Management Team are based within local Probation offices and work closely with other partners including the Police, Health providers and substance treatment services.

You will help to develop and sustain plans for each offender which will include measures to address the underlying causes of their offending behaviour.

Key activities are to:

  • Be in regular contact with the offenders and help to ensure that they comply with the requirements of the scheme.
  • Help to build a picture of risks, needs and progress for each person which will enable the lead officers to take the appropriate action.
  • Ensure that families of offenders are able to access support and advice as required.

Knowledge of safeguarding processes as well as key legislation are fundamental to the role.

A full driving licence is required.

This part-time post (18 hours per week) is funded until 31 March 2021, subject to annual review.
