This is an open-ended position required for 20 hours per week.

As the current post holder has gained other employment, Tenby Community Learning Centre is looking to appoint a reliable, honest and suitably qualified person to take on the position of part-time caretaker at the premises in Greenhill Avenue, Tenby.

The premises is shared by several services - Learning Pembrokeshire, Library Services, Youth Services and Pembrokeshire Learning Centre.  Tenby Social Activity Centre is also on the campus.

The appointed person will work under the guidance of the lifelong learning area co-ordinator or other officer as may be determined by the Authority and is to have shared responsibility, with another existing part-time caretaker, for general maintenance, cleaning, security and facilities management services of the premises.  Please refer to job description for duties.

The working hours for this post are dictated by the use of the building during term-time.  Cover is required for a minimum of 2 mornings 6:30am - 9:00am and 2 evenings 5:00pm to 9:30pm a week during term-time, with flexibility for the remaining hours to undertake cleaning and caretaking duties of the Youth wing and other areas as necessary.  Flexibility is required as cover will be needed for occasional Saturdays workshops, and leave cover for the other caretaker.

Safeguarding and Child Protection are key priorities for Pembrokeshire's Education and Children's Service. We aim to support vulnerable children and young people to ensure they are as safe as they can possibly be.  We are committed to ensuring the safety and protection of all children and vulnerable adults and will take action to safeguard their wellbeing and acknowledge that they have a right to protection. This is supported in the general ethos of all Community Learning Centres.

This post is subject to a DBS check.
