Job Title: Family Assessment Worker / Bank Family Assessment Worker 
Grade: 14 - 21 (£18,600 - £22,622) pro rata for part-time working
Hours:Coventry – Waking Night Worker
Birmingham – Full time (37.5 hrs) and part time (22.5 hrs) positions available.

Full-time & part-time contracts will be following a rolling rota including weekends 7.30am -3.00pm & 2.30pm – 10.00pm

Waking Night contracts will be shifts from 9.30pm – 7.30am (various nights available, please state your available nights on your application)

Base: Coventry or Birmingham (see available positions above)

No experience or qualifications are required as we provide a thorough induction and ongoing training and coaching. We are committed to developing your knowledge base and skills and financially support all new staff to undertake the NVQ Level 3 in Childcare Residential, where needed. Job Purpose:

As part of a team in a residential setting; to work with families on a day-to-day basis providing detailed evidence-based assessment recordings in line with the National Assessment Framework.

Key duties will include:

  • To observe and record the parents’ abilities to meet the immediate safety and care/welfare needs of their children.
  • To undertake individual sessions of work with families in order to promote positive parenting.
  • To examine and observe the nature of the interactions between the child, family and environmental factors and are key in helping make sound recommendations and to inform on future planning.
  • To provide appropriate advice and guidance to families in accordance with their work programmes.
  • To work in partnership with families, colleagues and professionals
  • To provide a high quality, dependable service which meet our charity’s values and standards.
  • To provide childcare for children whilst their parents/carers attend Groups and Individual Sessions. To take responsibility for the security of the building and maintain a safe environment for residents.
  • To contribute towards ongoing risk assessments of families, acting decisively to protect children.
  • To carry out admin and domestic duties.
  • To actively promote Dudley’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults at a level appropriate to this group.
