Job description

No two days are the same for our Marine Surveyors. You will inspect, audit and survey ships and maritime ship operators to ensure UK and International Regulations are being met, delivering exceptional customer service alongside experienced colleagues.

We have a number or Marine Surveyor positions available in the Engineer, Naval Architect, Nautical and Ship Surveyor disciplines. Please see the Role Profiles attached below for further information about the responsibilities associated with each role.

You are an experienced Maritime Professional who holds the relevant qualifications (as outlined in the Role Profiles attached below). You have proven customer service skills and can make quick, effective decisions, that are always focused on achieving the best outcomes. You are resilient, flexible and able to manage a varied workload with competing priorities. You have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively build relationships with a variety of stakeholders across different cultures and industries. If you see yourself in this way, we really want to hear from you.

Please note, due to the nature of the role you will also be required to undergo a Counter-Terrorist Check (CTC). Gaining CTC Clearance will normally require you to have been a resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years, and only candidates who meet this requirement will be considered for the role.

Important information

You will operate to a flexible working pattern consisting of an average of 37 hours per week. On occasion, there will be a requirement to work outside of ‘normal hours’.

You will be required to work and travel on official duty within the UK and short term visits overseas or offshore, which may involve overnight stays away from home.


A full driving licence for driving in the UK and a passport valid for international travel are required.

Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles, and will assess your Behaviours, Experience and Technical skills.

If your application meets the requirements of the role, you will then be invited to a short initial video interview, where we will assess your experience and technical knowledge. Further information will be provided if you are invited to online interview.

If you are successful at the video interview you will then be invited to attend a final interview at one of our Marine Offices in the UK.

The sift is due to take place w/c 06.01.2020.

Online interviews are likely to take place w/c 20.01.2020.

Final interviews/assessments are likely to be held from 03.02.2020.
