Do you want to make a difference and help support disabled students to achieve their goals, by providing academic support that will help further their University education?

We are looking for Support Workers to attend lectures/other classes in the Burnley region, and take notes on behalf of students who are unable to do so due to a disability, including physical impairment, health condition or a specific learning difficulty. Support Workers may also be required to provide One-to-One Assistance and general help around the University / Library facilities.

Commencing: As soon as possible (part-time/flexible hours)
Pay rate: £11/hr

Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with student(s)
Must be able to organise and manage fluctuating workloads
Flexibility to meet the needs of the student
Punctual, timely and reliable
Commit to working with a student for a full academic yearResponsibilities:

To produce an accurate and legible handwritten record of lectures, seminars and discussions in the student's preferred format
Provide One-to-One assistance and Library support
To act in the best interests of students at all times whilst also working within the policies and procedures of the University of Lancaster
To ensure student confidentiality, professionalism and respect is maintained at all times
To follow agreed recording and reporting system in a timely mannerRequirements:

Educated to degree level or studying towards a degree
Have neat handwriting and be able to present notes in a legible and presentable manner
Accurate spelling and grammar
Excellent organisation and communication skills
Punctual and reliable
You will need to be able to work quickly and under time restrictions
Experience of working with disabled individuals is desirable
Have awareness of Safeguarding and be suitable to work with learners 16+You will enjoy a benefits package that includes:
