This is an ideal opportunity for a Crime Duty Solicitor to join a highly regarded Legal 500 firm in London and manage their own rewarding caseload of criminal defence matters on either a full or part time basis. Responsibilities • Representing clients at court and the police station • Legal Aid matters • Dealing with billing issues • Serious crime • Driving offences • Instructing counsel • Interviewing witnesses and drafting witness statements • Undertaking some work outside normal office hours The Candidate • Crime duty solicitor with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE in criminal defence matters • Knowledge of Law Society/SRA/Legal Aid Agency rules and processes • A following of clients would be highly advantageous • Expertise in representing clients at court and the police station • Billing experience • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to handle challenging clients in an empathetic and effective manner • Proficient in the use of case management systems and other relevant IT applications • Full driving licence and own vehicle The Firm Our client is a specialist criminal practice established more than 30 years ago.
