We’re looking for an experienced and engaging receptionist, who’s passionate about customer service and eager to make a difference!

Currently celebrating our 100 year as an institution, we have a wealth of history and experience in providing the highest quality learning opportunities. At any one time, we have over 3,500 students from more than 100 countries benefiting from our qualifications. UCEM helps to enhance Built Environment professional careers through our accredited property-related and construction programmes, offered at Postgraduate, Undergraduate and Apprenticeship levels. Our centenary year has inspired our new vision to be the Centre of Excellence for Built Environment Education, appropriately abbreviated ‘CX’ to help us look to the future and lead our strategy for the next 10 years. This is all to achieve our core purpose of providing accessible, relevant and cost-effective online education, producing leading talent for a better Built Environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our facilities management reception team, welcoming visitors and colleagues into the office! You will be the first point of contact for visitors (and callers), creating a positive and lasting impression of UCEM both during and after their visit. You will not only be welcoming individuals into the office and taking enquiries over the phone, but also assisting in the behind the scenes organisation and administration to ensure the business runs smoothly. This includes answering enquiries, managing meetings and hospitality, travel administration, ordering FM goods and services, receiving of delivered goods, and maintaining the appearance of the reception area. You will also assist in the implementation of new FM activities, such as drafting/updating procedures for new systems and suggesting new initiatives that could be beneficial.

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or Equivalent
  • Recent experience in the same or similar role
  • Excellent IT ability
  • Impeccable communication skills – both written and verbal, particularly via email and over the phone
