We have an exciting opportunity for a People Policy Lead to join our people function for 12 months. Supporting the group in the delivery of its business strategy through the creation, development and maintenance of forward thinking and compliant people policies that fit with our values as a mutual, and ensure relevance in a changing world.

You will focus on key projects including; working time regulations, leave and family/ life friendly policies and practices, moving to a resolution focused approach to conflict management and the further embedding of flexible working practices for all. What You'll Do
• Leading on the development and implementation of best practice people policies and supporting processes. Assessing organisational capability gaps working closely with People Division and business SME’s to close those gaps.
• Consulting with key stakeholders on the development of HR policy and principles, role modelling collaborative working with People centres of excellence and other areas of the business. Actively engage people leaders in policy and process improvement.
• Utilising data, MI and insights to make recommendations for changes to policy, supporting processes and to close people leader capability gaps.
• Assess and manage the people impact of a changing regulatory environment as it relates to people policies – horizon scan and manage the People Policy and ER change plan.
• Work flexibly across a range of different change and BAU programmes as required, using a broad range of generalist and specialist HR skills to implement a robust change plan.
• Develop strong working relationships with business leaders establishing credibility quickly and gaining a reputation as a trusted advisor with sound working knowledge of the people policy, organisational and external change context.
• Lead and coordinate campaigns relating to the effective landing and embedding of policy related change ensuring it contributes effectively to the ER environment and desired Group culture.
• Manage PIR activity as required to ensure that both successes and opportunities are captured in an honest way that reflects the success of the project to gain greater consistency and engagement of future programmes.

How You’ll Do It
• Previous experience of delivering change in a people policy or proven background gained from a business change/transformation background.
• Experience of delivering key business projects.
• Strong project planning experience.
• Ability to bring people across the business together, empower and motivate people to come on the journey with you.
• Excellent attention to detail and prioritisation skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse with senior stakeholders and colleagues effectively.
