Position: Care Assistant (Days/Nights)

Location: St Oswalds Retirement Village, Gloucester

Hours: 30 hours days 18 hours nights & Relief Bank

Rate of Pay: £8.54 - £9.81 (subject to qualifications)

Contract: Part-Time, Permanent

Start Date: Immediate(Subject to satisfactory DBS check, references and Home Office Right to Work Clearance)

We have fantastic opportunities available at our St Oswalds Retirement Village, Gloucester.

As Care Assistant, it is desirable that you hold a LEVEL 2 Qualification in Health & Social Care, alongside experience of a similar role.

It is equally important that you can demonstrate the right behaviours and attitude for working in an adult social care environment.

A full induction programme will be provided, alongside formal training opportunities.

The role will require you to work shifts on a rota.

Care Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Provide all aspects of personal care to residents
  • Promoting and support the physical, emotional and well being of residents
  • Encourage independence and self-belief
  • Provide a personalised housing related to support service
  • Supporting residents at meal times, in accordance with their individual needs
  • Ensure the environment is maintained to a high standard including shared areas
  • Contribute fully to team working, responding positively to colleagues and undertaking all reasonable work instructions promptly
  • Practice safe systems of work across the range of tasks and in particular moving and handling of Understand personal responsibilities with regard to Health and Safety at Work legislation, particularly in relation to moving and handling of residents and fire safety and evacuation procedures
  • Take an active interest in your personal and professional development by, contributing to supervision and appraisal meetings, attending team meetings and training
  • Adhere to all company and local policies/procedures
  • Develop positive professional relationships with residents, visitors and colleagues

Job Requirements:

  • Rights to work in the UK
  • NVQ Level 2 or QCF Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience gained in a similar role
  • Enthusiastic with a can do attitude to make a difference
  • Personable with ability to build rapport with residents
