Salary & Benefits: £57,789 to £67,421 base salary, plus significant annual personal bonus percentage, 13% employer pension contribution, 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays. Want a Summary of the Role?

This Solution Architecture role sits in the Motor Finance Engineering team who are responsible for maintaining and developing Lloyds Blackhorse and Lex Auto lease system. Your day to day role would involve acting as a Solution Architect within the software engineering team to designing solutions and roadmaps to address complex business challenges. Your role would focus on the architecture elements required to ensure our platforms and software are designed and built consistently with relevant patterns, practices and align to the target architecture.

So what am I responsible for as Solution Architect?

You would work within a software engineering team to provide direction and guidance around our solution architecture needs, give guidance, mentor and increase the knowledge of software engineers around our architecture needs.

Specific responsibilities would include designing solutions and roadmaps to address complex business challenges, the production of designs that meet the business needs and align with the Motor Finance target architecture and providing technical leadership within your team. You will also help shape a large degree of investment by leading the solution architecture for a key business domain within Motor Finance Value Stream.

This role would also involve line and task management of a small team up to six people, so you will have the opportunity to mentor, develop and coach those in your team.

What experience, skills and knowledge will I need?

As a minimum to be seriously considered you would need to have over five years' experience as a Solution Architect who is used to working with large and complex systems, with demanding function and non-functional requirements. You will sit within a software engineering function, so knowledge of general software development principles and life cycle is also essential.

As this is a management role we would like to see prior experience leading a team with a passion for developing others. You would also engage a range of senior stakeholders so being able to communicate clearly with a range of technical and non-technical staff to inform and influence will be essential.

Ideally we would like to see an industry standard architecture qualification like TOGAF. Desirable would also be any exposure to motor finance or financial services, or any of the following technologies: Cyber security, web and mobile technologies, infrastructure (networks/load balancers/firewalls), integration, monitoring and alerting but please apply if you don't!
