We are looking for an inspirational Head of Music Delivery who is able to lead the organisation’s music delivery team to deliver high quality, live music concerts performed by professional musicians in healthcare settings across the UK – which includes hospitals, hospices and care homes.

Position: Head of Music Delivery

Location: The role could be based at any of our client’s current offices - Cardiff, Edinburgh, Manchester or Walton on Thames. Some flexibility can be offered regarding home working

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full-time

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 depending upon experience

Contract: Permanent

Benefits: Excellent benefits package including 35 days per year (inclusive of bank holidays), Employer Pension contribution of 5%, Death in Service benefits, access to an Employee Assistance Programme and the opportunity for flexible working.

The charity, which celebrated its 70th birthday in 2018, provides live music sessions for people who are receiving care or treatment in healthcare settings, in 2018/19 they delivered in excess of 4,500 live music sessions across the UK.

This is a tremendously exciting time to be involved with the organisation; in 2019 they successfully implemented a number of innovative and award winning programmes and partnerships, which they will look to build on in 2020 and beyond. In addition they will be developing our new strategy to facilitate delivery of their objectives.

The Role

The Head of Music Delivery role has been created to lead, facilitate and ensure the implementation of our client’s strategic plan for live music including; developing academic links to support research into the benefits of live music in healthcare, implementation of musician development programmes and ensuring that the charity consistently delivers a high-quality programme of live music.

About You

As Head of Music Delivery you will be able to inspire, motivate and lead the music delivery team by example in accordance with the organisation’s values. An effective leader with a solution-focussed attitude and collaborative approach, you will bring with you a proven track record of service delivery within the voluntary sector. You will have a broad knowledge of and interest in music and an appreciation of the therapeutic benefits that the performance of live music can bring to people in care.

About the Organisation

The charity seeks to give joy through live music through the provision of live music sessions for people receiving care or treatment in healthcare settings across the UK, including those who are vulnerable, the elderly, those with dementia and in critical care.

Their live music concerts are presented by individual or small groups of skilled musicians who have been carefully selected through a process of audition. Sessions are tailored to the both the setting and the audience to ensure that they can reach and connect people, encourage communication and meaningful interactions and evoke emotions and memories to make people feel good one tune at a time.
