An exciting opportunity for you to join as a Manager/Senior Manager within our EMEA Regulatory Affairs and Aggregate Risk (RAAR) team. The Regulatory Affairs and Aggregate Risk team in the EMEA region is focused on prudential rule interpretation applicable across EMEA regulated entities (UK and European banking entities and investments firms); production of recovery and resolution planning documentation; economic capital requirements for Macquarie’s non-bank group; and stress testing.

As a member of the team, you will be primarily focused on the end-to-end recovery and resolution planning (RRP) processes for Macquarie’s EMEA regulated entities. This will involve leading on production of the RRP documents, with significant co-ordination and collaboration across many stakeholders, including all the operating businesses, Risk Management, Group Treasury, Finance, Macquarie’s senior management and various Boards. You will provide guidance to stakeholders, ensuring the RRP documents adhere to best-practice and remain in-line with regulator expectations. Additionally, you will ensure alignment of the Recovery Plan for local entities with the Group Recovery Plan.

Being part of a small team means that you will be required to assist in reviewing other regulatory documents and policies including the ICAAP, Risk Appetite Statements and other Risk and Capital Management documents. You may be required to assist on regulatory change projects, provide input on the impact of new regulation and provide advice on the local prudential rules.

You will have strong knowledge on UK and European recovery, resolution and wind-down planning regulatory requirements and expectations, with experience in leading components of these processes for a Bank and/or Investment Firm subject to European prudential requirements.

Strong project management skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels whilst promoting a strong compliance culture is essential.

If you are ready to take on a new role in a busy team, we look forward to hearing from you.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
