What is the purpose of this role?
We are currently recruiting for a Painter to join our maintenance team at HMP Gartree, providing painting and decorating support across the prison.
What will this role involve?
Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison.
Responsibility for the care and maintenance of tools, plant, materials and additional company property
Provide painting support to onsite projects
Deliver work allocated to the standards of quality required and within set timescales
Ensure the Health and Safety of self and others in the workplace in accordance with company policy
Follow and adhere to instructions and directives from line management and the Central Co-ordination Team
Compliance with relevant company Health & Safety Policy, instructions and directives
To undertake out of hours callout duties as per rota requirements
What are we looking for?
Completed apprenticeship in a relevant trade City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Painting & Decorating or similar discipline
Previous relevant work related experience
Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments
Required Technical Skills
Previous relevant work related experience
Enthusiastic, Punctual, Conscientious and Self-motivated Interpersonal skills
Accurate measuring and scoping of works
Good knowledge of current industry practice
