Rehoming Training & Development Manager
Burford (Oxfordshire), Radcliffe (Greater Manchester) or Sheffield (South Yorkshire)
If you are a training professional with experience of working in multi-species animal welfare environments, this is a superb opportunity to help strengthen the rehoming function of a leading animal charity.
About Us
Blue Cross is one of the UK’s leading rehoming organisations for animals. We support sick, injured and homeless pets and care for more than 40,000 animals every year through our rehoming, veterinary and education programmes.
A lot has changed since we began caring for animals in 1897, so we’ve developed a strategy in response to the needs of pets in today’s modern world. As part of this, we have designed a brand-new rehoming operating model and organisational structure, which will enable us to continue providing outstanding levels of care and support even more animals in need.
We are now looking for a Rehoming Training & Development Manager to support our transformation, joining us at our Burford, Radcliffe or Sheffield sites. This is a part-time role, working 21 hours per week.
The Benefits
- Salary of c£33,000 per annum pro rata
- Pension scheme
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Company sick pay
- Life insurance
- Shopping discounts
This is a brilliant opportunity to join us at an exciting point in our evolution and play an integral role in the development of our teams. Your efforts will enable our staff to perform to the best of their ability and provide the high-quality care that our animals deserve.
Rehoming a rescue pet gives an abandoned or unwanted animal the chance of a fresh start and a happy future. If you want to take on a rewarding training role where you’ll be able to make a difference to the lives of both pets and people, we want to hear from you.
The Role
As the Rehoming Training & Development Manager, you will design and build accessible, inclusive learning programmes to support our rehoming operations.
Creating programmes that are both scalable and capable of meeting individual needs, your training will enable clear development pathways in all aspects of learning.
Working alongside the Behaviour Training & Development Manager, you will:
- Ensure that Blue cross standards and approaches are embedded in learning
- Research, test and adopt techniques to accelerate learning
- Engage with teams to ensure your training can be pragmatically applied in an operational context
- Adapt our rehoming training programmes to be delivered externally
About You
To join us as a Rehoming Training & Development Manager, you will need:
- Significant experience of working in multi-species animal welfare environments
- Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering training standards
- A track record of developing training materials, lesson plans and learning pathways
A qualification in animal welfare, care, management and/or behaviour would be beneficial, as would a teaching and/or training qualification.
Other organisations may call this role Rehoming Training Manager, Animal Welfare Training Manager, Animal Care Training Manager, Training Delivery Manager, Training Programme Manager, or Animal Welfare Trainer.
The closing date for applications is the 8th January 2020.
