Start Network is a global network of more than 50 aid agencies, ranging from large international organisations to national NGOs.  We're tackling what we believe are the biggest systemic problems that the sector faces.  Together, our aim is to transform humanitarian action through innovation, fast funding, early action, and localisation. We can only achieve our goals if we have a highly engaged membership.  This role will lead on developing and implementing membership engagement plans, working with the team and membership at different levels, including CEOs and country office leads.  You will ensure the membership can actively and efficiently engage in the Start Network.  You will also develop tools and events to ensure peer-to-peer collaboration between members.  You will directly engage with members and the team through visits and online forums.  You will also lead on clearer articulation of Network culture and principles, requirements for member contributions, and the value of membership. We are looking for someone to develop and implement creative yet simple solutions to improve engagement. We are seeking someone with great initiative, excellent communication skills, an ability to influence across diverse groups and an ability to get things done. Start Network became a new independent charity on 1st May 2019 after being hosted by Save the Children for nine years.  In our first year of independence, we are excited to be recruiting several roles to join the team.  Join us! The full job description and how to apply (all in one document) is attached and can also be found on our website.  You just need to send us your up-to-date CV, cover letter (no more than 2 A4 sides) and equality and diversity monitoring form - all as word documents. Closing date: Sunday 5th January 2020 (midnight UK time) Interviews: Thursday 9th January (1 hour with a panel) Please note that you must have the right to work in the UK to apply for this role.  Any offer of employment is subject to relevant checks. Please refer to our privacy statement and candidate privacy notice regarding treatment of your data. Our roles are open to discussion about flexible working, which may include arrangements such as part-time working, formalised flexitime, fixed (non-standard) working hours, working from home and job-sharing. While our team is office based, home working is part of our culture. Start Network is committed to developing policies which embrace diversity, promote equality of opportunity and eliminate unlawful discrimination. We are an equal opportunities employer and treat every application on merit alone.  We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as BAME.  We offer a guaranteed interview scheme for disabled applicants who meet our minimum selection criteria.  We also welcome applications from, LGB and Trans and non-binary candidates.
