Affinity Water, it starts and ends with our name and flows through everything we do.

Our vision is to be the leading, customer focused water company.

We are the largest water-only supplier in the UK. Water is essential for life, meaning that the service we provide is vital for the millions of customers we serve – this is a very special responsibility.

There are many things that make us different as a company. We embrace our affinity for our colleagues, customers and the environment we serve. We only recruit the best and we are committed to helping you achieve your career goals and becoming even better than you are today. If you like working hard and want to unlock the very best of your potential, a career with us could be the best decision you ever make.

Your next role…

As a Category Manager, you will take the lead on procurement activity to enable delivery of contracts and benefits across the company. You will be responsible for overseeing key strategic contracts, identifying opportunities for consolidating spend and ensuring full compliance in the categories being managed.

You will play a key role in the identification, assessment and management of potential risks associated with differing sourcing strategies, whilst also be providing insight through the analysis of spend, supply markets and savings. You will ensure that goods, services and works purchased in your categories comply with Utilities Contracts Regulations.

As part of your role, you’ll be monitoring contract performance - reporting progress, identifying potential cost saving initiatives and supporting with the forecasting, planning and awarding of contracts.

Got what it takes to succeed?

Here at Affinity Water, we attract and nurture the top talent. It’s the pride we take in our delivery and performance. Our ideal candidate will have achieved or will be working towards MCIPS or relevant degree. You’ll be vastly experienced in using procurement processes and systems within a commercial environment, which will allow you to hit the ground running and quickly contribute to the team's success. Your experience in preparing requests for tender will see you truly add value to our diverse and enthusiastic team.

Your proven track record in excellent stakeholder engagement and management, with the ability to really understand and challenge (where appropriate) the business needs will be crucial to being successful in this role.

We’re looking for a people person who can quickly establish great working relationships with our internal customers and suppliers.

Company

Affinity Water is a water supply company owned by a consortium of Allianz, HICL and DIF Tamblin

Affinity Water was established through the purchase of Veolia Water's UK water supply operations to Rift Acquisitions, an entity established by Morgan Stanley and M&G Investments, for £1.2 billion on 28 June 2012. The three separate Veolia Water-branded businesses: Veolia Water Central, Veolia Water Southeast and Veolia Water East were brought together as one company, under the Affinity Water brand on 1 October 2012.

Veolia Environnement retained a 10% stake in Affinity Water for five years from incorporation, using the proceeds of the disposal to reduce its debt, as part of a €5bn debt-reduction programme announced in December 2011.[3][4]

In May 2017, a consortium of Allianz, HICL and DIF purchased Morgan Stanley and M&G's 90% holding, followed by Veolia's 10% holding.
