We have a brand new opportunity for a Development Engineer to join our OC solutions team. The role is full time, permanent and based in our Bristol office.

The main purpose of the role is to be a key part of the delivery of the next stage of our technological offering, and to help continue to shape our product roadmap from here.

  Key responsibilities of the role:

  • General development support and contribution to the existing lead Developer and UX Designer
  • Assisting in the creation of a data architecture and strategy for our products and solutions
  • Assist in the creation of relational SQL databases to enable data strategy to be put into effect
  • Assist in the creation of coding principles around records, commented code, and Agile coding development plans
  • Have particular responsibility for the creation of integrations between existing client facing solutions, client applications (esp Sharepoint) and third party applications (esp Companies House and Land Registry). Particular responsibility with assisting with the integration of such applications  to / from HighQ and any other experience layer we use from time to time (eg, Bryter), using APIs / SQL connections, and through IntApp Integrate or otherwise
  • Liaise with client tech teams from design stage through build, deployment and ongoing maintenance and enhancement
  • Adherence to existing IT best practices around coding, documentation, data, information security and governance, and collaboration with the IT department on new standards as the role develops
  • Liaison and knowledge sharing with OC's IT team to ensure maximum internal benefit of the knowledge developed by this role
  • Be an integral part of our client-facing delivery teams

  Person specification

We need someone who has technical experience in the following:

  • JS, SQL, CSS, HTML and API coding
  • Data mapping; General development; Database architecture and creation
  • Agile coding (for robust, scalable and maintainable code)

As well as the technical skills, we are looking for someone who is a genuine team player, actively seeks opportunities to self-teach, is willing to contribute ideas and enjoys working in a start-up culture.
