We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on finance professional for the role of Financial Controller. This is a part-time role with hours to be agreed but approx 2-3 days a week.

You will report to the Managing Director and will be fully responsible for functions including the following:

  • Maintenance of computerised in-house Sales and Purchase Ledger.
  • Reconcile multi-currency bank accounts
  • Allocation of costs to jobs as and when they come
  • Monitoring contract profitability
  • Computing monthly sales commission, payroll and related PAYE administration
  • Maintaining supplier ledger and making UK and Non UK payments, when required
  • Reconcile credit cards and cash expenditure
  • Monthly accruals/prepayments for cost and commissions
  • Preparation of monthly Management Information pack and presentation to the Director
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT return to HMRC
  • Preparation and submission of statutory accounts to companies house and the corporation tax return to the HMRC
  • Preparation and submission of the Director's self assessment tac return to HMRC subsequent to tax planning
  • Assist in preparation and monitoring of budget and forecast
  • Ad hoc duties

Minimum requirements:

  • Must be a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
  • Experience in the interiors, architecture, fashion or retail industries would be an asset
  • Must have knowledge of QuickBooks (or similar) and Microsoft Office
